For many this was the start of Rare taking dominance over the Nintendo platform. Around this time Square was breaking apart for the big N, and so Rare got the limelight as being the big out-house developer for Nintendo. Interestingly, this was one of the first Nintendo games which had a worldwide release date. Also interesting is that Nintendo Australia ignored the date, and decided to release the Australian game 2 days earlier than the rest of the world.
