2001 saw the release of the new GameBoy, and later the launch of the Nintendo GameCube and Microsoft Xbox. However the Dreamcast still shined as the best consoles around. The biggest change in 2001 was Sega, in Sonic 10th year Sega decided it best to develop games for all home platforms and to discontinue the Dreamcast and any further work hardward devlopment for home market.
